The M98 action cycles exceptionally fast and smoothly, perfect for making quick follow up shots. 98 Standard Expert’s flawless function is perfectly complimented by its innovative and easy to use three-position safety mechanism. In the first position, the rifle is ready to fire. In the second position, the firing pin is locked but the bolt can still be opened. In the third position, both the firing pin and bolt are locked. Other features include a stock made from premium class 5 matt oiled walnut with checkering in the grip and fore-end sections, as well as a rubber butt pad to help mitigate recoil. In addition, the steel parts of this rifle are given a black plasma nitride finished for the best possible protection from the elements.
