The P320 X-Five is a unique competition pistol that stands out from other X-Five models.
Unlike its predecessors, which were based on P226 or P220 frames, the new P320 X-Five was specifically designed as a dedicated competition pistol. However, it introduces new features that will also be incorporated into other P320 models. SIG did not simply add fancy sights to a factory P320 and call it a " competition model." Instead, the platform was completely overhauled by experts who understood the specific requirements of a competition pistol.
The P320 X-Five boasts SIG's X-Frame, which offers a redesigned grip angle. While the standard P320 has a nearly vertical grip angle that functions adequately, the X-Frame provides a more angled grip. The X-Frame utilizes the same magazine bodies as other P320 models, and the pistol comes with an impressive four 21-round magazines. If you want to use older magazines with the new X-Frame, some filing may be required on the base pads due to the different frame contours. Going forward, all new P320 magazines will feature the updated base pad found on the P320 X-Five, ensuring compatibility with both standard and X-Five frames.
