For over four decades, Springfield Armory has been a prominent figure in the firearms industry. Originally renowned for crafting iconic American firearms such as civilian versions of the M14 and M1911, the company expanded its repertoire in 2002 to include polymer pistols. Since venturing into the realm of polymer pistols, Springfield has significantly diversified its XD (X-treme Duty) line, encompassing a wide array of full-size and compact handguns.
Among their arsenal, the XD-S subcompact single-stack pistol garnered immense popularity upon its introduction, with the XD Mod.2 closely following as a feature-rich alternative. Recognizing the potential synergy between these two beloved pistols, Springfield embarked on a journey to combine their most coveted attributes, culminating in the creation of the XD-S Mod.2. Premiered at the 2018 SHOT Show, the XD-S Mod.2 made its initial debut chambered in .45 ACP, with plans to introduce 9mm and possibly .40 S&W variants in the future. Indeed, just eight months later, the XD-S became available in 9mm. Eager to explore this latest addition, we procured one of these compact marvels fresh off the assembly line, enabling us to subject it to rigorous testing and offer our insights into this newly reimagined piece of weaponry.
While Springfield had made incremental adjustments to the XD-S in the past, this time they opted for a comprehensive overhaul. Given the XD-S's well-established popularity, such a bold move could have been perceived as risky. Nevertheless, Springfield spared no effort in crafting their Mod.2 package, seamlessly blending the cherished qualities cherished by existing XD-S enthusiasts with an array of enhancements designed to attract an entirely new following.
The price of the Springfield XD Mod 2 can start from either $400 or $500, depending on the model. In this line, the best price of the Springfield XD Mod 2 is presented in online stores. Cheap Springfield XD Mod 2 is better to look for on sites that sell weapons that have already been in use.
Pros:
Enhanced Grip Texture: Its GripZone texturing provides a secure hold in various conditions, reducing the chances of slipping.
Quick Reset Trigger: The pistol features a short, crisp trigger reset, enabling faster follow-up shots and improved accuracy.
High Capacity: Offers ample ammunition capacity, with magazines available in various sizes, allowing for flexibility in capacity and concealability.
Cons:
Size and Weight: The XD Mod.2 may be larger and heavier compared to some other compact pistols, making concealed carry less discreet for some users.
Limited Caliber Options: While it's available in various sizes and configurations, caliber choices are somewhat limited, primarily focusing on 9mm and .45 ACP.
